Does/will your wish really come true when you fold 1000 paper cranes?

Hi! I'm just doing this for fun, folding 1000 paper cranes, but I know the story and I'm just wondering if anyone else has folded 1000 paper cranes, and their wish came true. If you haven't do you know someone who has?
