Who knows a good program where i can edit my own videos?

heyy well to be more specific....i want a program kinda like adobe premiere but i have a windows 7 acer laptop (2010) and yea well i want to record videos of my self with my friends and edit the footage by adding words to it and songs....and if possible niice efects (it needs to be a free downloadable program)....thanx for your help!
