What sport is like a war of hundreds trying to get a ball down to the river and the other team up the hill?

I think it may go on in Scotland with literally hundreds vs hundreds to get this ball one way or the other and it is violent, anything goes. What is the name of this sport and does anyone know where to find any footage of this.
